Top Contributors?
Where do top contributors get there “badges” from? And what about officials? Such as Barack Obama, & Dr. Stephen Hawking, who have an “Official” badge below their avatar? How does Y/A know they are the real Barack Obama, Dr. Stephen Hawking, etc.? Do they just pop up one day???
Liz m, I’m not sure if I’m stupid, but my people will get back to you on that.
Top Contributors are awarded their badges on a Monday.
They’re usually given for high participation and good
answers (some say a certain % of Best Answers, but that’s
not been disclosed) – In certain categories – Could be 1-up to 3 different categories.
Just answer, be thorough, mature, helpful, and give a link
if necessary. Aim for BA’s. Stay active, and help in that
category. A certain # of pts. per week or bi-weekly also
helps them know. In a sense, if you have been contributing mainly in one to 3 Categories, and giving good answers,
It (the badge) Will just ‘show up’ one Monday.
To maintain it, stay active in the category.
As far as the Green “Official” badges, I imagine they’re asked
by Yahoo to participate, or offer even. I have seen them ‘pop up’ in questions now and again.. but Yahoo gives them those ‘Official Badges’. Easy to separate from the trolls.
