Does Jimmy Hoffa and the Teamsters ‘visiting’ people on behalf Sen. Obama violate the RICO Act ?

According to the Chicago Tribune:

September 20, 2008

BUTTE, Mont. – International Brotherhood of Teamsters President James P. Hoffa rallied labor union and Democratic Party faithful Saturday in Montana on behalf of presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Hoffa, 67, is stumping for Obama across the country. He went door-to-door in Butte to canvass neighborhoods for voters and recruit volunteers and later attended a barbecue at the labor hall.

Will these tactics pass the test of legality?

Hoffa said he really couldn’t ask his members to vote for Obama but then Obama offered him a way out of the government over site committee under the R.I.C.O. Act that has been over seeing the Teamsters since 1989.
